Eaton Elementary PTO Meeting Minutes

Attendees: Kristy Burns, Brittany Kwoczalla, Hannah Drown, Ginger Dulworth, Scott Blakely, Julie Marshall, Leslie Philips


Winter Carnival 

-The winter carnival is scheduled for Friday, February 7th. 6-8 p.m.

-The man that sold hot dogs at last year’s carnival has been confirmed for this year by Scott.

-Hannah spoke with Kim DeVoss about using her room and supplies from last carnival for face painting. Kim will volunteer her time and PTO will provide volunteers to help with the face painting station.  

-Kristy will contact NJHS for volunteers.

-Brittany will make fliers for the event.

-Jaime will get candy for the games.

-Brittany spoke with a representative from Cafe’ Valley. They will donate 350 items for the cake walk. Items are to be picked up on February 7th.

-Brittany will run the cake walk.

-PTO will be selling wristbands for unlimited game play and obstacle course turns. They will be $10 each. 

-Wristbands will be pre-sold with the option to buy them at the carnival as well. Kristy will secure the wristbands.

-Inflatable and game rentals

    - Rental fees for the inflatable and 2 games last year were $410. Rental fees for an inflatable obstacle course and 4 games this year will be $460. The rental company will deliver the items and set them up. 

-Brittany will look into soda donations for the ring toss.


Family Dance

-A family Sadie Hawkins themed dance will be scheduled for April 3rd (Spring Sadies Celebration)

- Kristy will ask DJ Diane if she is available to DJ the dance.

-Hannah will ask Caitlin Drown if she is available to set up a photo booth.


Pastries for Parents

-Pastries for Parents is scheduled for April 17th. 7a.m.

-The book fair will be running that week.

-Donuts may possibly come from Concannon’s. Brittany will price check donuts at Payless and Jaime will price check donuts at Meijer and Walmart to make sure we get the best deal.  

-40 dozen donuts will be needed.


Skating Party

-Kristy will contact Gibson’s to move the scheduled skating party from February to a date in March.


Pie sales prizes

-The pizza party and extra recess for pie sales will take place during the first week of February.


School Need

-The school is in need of a new laminator and has asked PTO for assistance in purchasing one.

-A new laminator will cost between $1,300 and $2,000.

-It was discussed that PTO could pay for the laminator and use raffle funds to replace the funds used.

-Julie will ask teachers for basket donations to raffle at the carnival.

-Brittany will coordinate classroom baskets/totes/projects with students to raffle at the family dance.

-The school has received a generous donation to cover the cost of the laminator.
