Music

Students attend music class every four days and are exposed to a broad range of musical activities. Singing, moving, listening, creating, and playing instruments are included throughout the year. Music appreciation and music history are explored as well as multi-cultural music. By introducing students to all types of music, we hope to give them a solid foundation on which to build a lifetime of musical enjoyment.

We are pleased to have the Muncie Symphony Orchestra chamber groups perform for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.

Performance is a natural outlet for a strong music program. All students in grades K-5 participate in the annual Christmas program.

Choir is offered to all interested 4th and 5th graders. For those students who enjoy singing, choir provides the opportunity to develop vocal skills while singing a variety of music. A few selected students participate in "Circle the State With Song." This is an opportunity for those students to study selected repertoire and perform with a large group under the direction of a guest clinician and director.
